Farah helped me during a very difficult period of my life. I was suffering from a rare genetic disease and the treatment was too expensive. The government had refused to subsidise it for more than 7 years. I needed to make my voice heard at the Department of Health since it was my life saving drug and I was a single mother with no family in Australia. I had a petition and needed to collect as many signatures as possible. Farah managed to connect me with a large platform of people on Facebook who boosted the signatures tremendously. Not to mention involving her own social contacts like family and friends. She also provided personal, emotional and practical support. She visited me at my home and spoke to me in depth about my needs and how we can go about this. After about 3 months of intense effort the subsidy was approved and I have been on the drug since 2016.
